Keith, Charles Alexander “Charlie”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend on Tuesday October, 8, 2019. Charlie was born in Collingwood August 7, 1932 to parents Alexander and Helen Keith. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Maxwell; predeceased by his wife Shirley J. Keith (2002). He will be deeply missed by his daughter Sandra (Chuck) Buckley of Canmore, AB and by his son Greg (Shirley) Keith of Victoria, BC. He will be forever cherished by his grandchildren Heather and Hilary (Dougal), Michael, Amy (Brian), and great grandson Aiden. Charlie will also be remembered by Joyce’s sons Ian (Marg) and Evan (Shawna) Maxwell and their children Cody (Kaurel), Candie (Bennett), Gabriel, Kalleigh and Lily and grandchildren Brooke, Meadow, Lyla, Stella, Ellis and Willow. As per his wishes cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Friday November 8, 2019 at 1 p.m. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to Collingwood General & Marine Hospital or First Baptist Church would be appreciated.

We have known Charlie as a neighbor at work on Stewart Road. He was a simple, honest and very hard working man with a great sense of humor. We pray that his soul rest in peace and that his family be given strength to deal with the loss. Please accept our sincere condolences. Shashi and Eswar Prasad. []

I'm so sorry to hear that Charlie has passed on. Such a genuinely nice person. The leather chairs he upholstered in the Collingwood Public Library will remain as a memorial to him.

Charlie has been a loyal and supportive friend to Ian and me for many years. We will miss him very much. Always looking for the best in people, Charlie took a genuine interest in Ian’s work and in my teaching career, always leaving us laughing after a visit. We both send our sympathy to the whole family. He will be missed by many for his generosity and hIs friendship. Heather and Ian Birchall
